I STILL WRITE FOR A LIVING.
I’m Jake Houska, a professional copywriter born in the late 1900s and living in Kansas City, Missouri. I develop campaign ideas, scripts, ads, websites, UX copy, live shows and even those long-form think pieces about industry you see from time to time. I went to journalism school at Mizzou and MOJO-Ad was my capstone internship where I cut my teeth helping a client that made a DVD vending machine exactly as Netflix first offered streaming. The work I'll share here, if you're nice, includes all kinds of stuff honestly. There's an essay about finding a missing person, there are psychotic ransom notes sent to farmers alongside ad campaigns for Microsoft EDU, the U.S. Army and Sapporo Beer. You might even get to see my brand launch for Bass Pro, my Christmas campaign for Bacardí and my Christmas commercial for Tracker Boats. But, like I said, only if you're nice.
